Annapurna Round Trek

Itinerary

Arrive in the heart of Nepal. You’ll be greeted at Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Thamel. Settle in, rest, and enjoy a welcome briefing about the trek ahead.
Spend the day exploring the spiritual and cultural treasures of Kathmandu Valley — visit Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. In the evening, check your gear and attend a trek orientation with your guide.
A scenic drive through hills, river valleys, and villages brings you to Besisahar, the official gateway to the Annapurna region. Continue along a rugged road to reach Syange, where the trekking trail begins.
Follow the Marsyangdi River past lush forest and cascading waterfalls. Cross several suspension bridges and climb through Jagat and Chamje before reaching the charming village of Dharapani.
Enter the Manang District. The trail winds through pine forests and ridges offering views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II. Reach Chame, the administrative center of the district, where the air grows crisp.
Pass through apple orchards, mani walls, and quaint hamlets. You’ll follow the river gorge through pine forests, catching spectacular views of Annapurna II and Pisang Peak before arriving in Upper or Lower Pisang.
Choose the high trail via Ghyaru and Ngawal for panoramic mountain views. You'll notice the landscape shift to dry alpine terrain. Reach Manang, a traditional Tibetan-style village surrounded by dramatic cliffs.
Rest and adapt to the altitude. Visit the ancient Braga Monastery, take short hikes to Gangapurna Lake or Chongkor Viewpoint, or simply relax and observe local life.
The trail gradually ascends out of the tree line. Pass grazing yaks and small stone huts on your way to Yak Kharka, a windswept plateau with expansive mountain views.
Make your way to the foot of Thorong La Pass. The terrain is rugged and barren, and the altitude begins to challenge your pace. Rest early at Thorong Phedi or High Camp to prepare for the next day.
Take a short acclimatization hike and hydrate well. This is a vital day for preparing your body for the high pass ahead.
Start early in the morning. The climb to Thorong La is steep, cold, and windy — but utterly unforgettable. From the top, enjoy sweeping views across the Himalayas. Descend steeply to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site.
Visit the Muktinath temple complex before trekking through the arid Mustang landscape. Stop at Kagbeni if time permits. Continue to Jomsom, a wind-swept town nestled between mountains and riverbeds.
Descend into the warmer lowlands. At Tatopani, rest your tired muscles in the natural hot springs. The name “Tatopani” literally means “hot water.”
Ascend again through terraced fields and rhododendron forests. Reach the vibrant hill station of Ghorepani, a popular spot for sunrise treks to Poon Hill.
Before dawn, hike to Poon Hill for a panoramic sunrise over Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After breakfast, descend through forest trails to Tadapani.
Trek through thick forest and descend into Ghandruk, a beautiful Gurung village with traditional stone houses. From here, take a drive to Pokhara, where your Himalayan adventure winds down.
Relax by Phewa Lake, visit the Peace Pagoda or take a boat ride. Pokhara is your perfect reward after weeks in the mountains.
Return to Kathmandu by scenic drive or 25-minute flight. Spend your final evening shopping, reflecting, and enjoying a farewell Nepali dinner.
