Ama Dablam is regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful and sought-after peaks, alongside the Matterhorn and Khan Tengri. The South East Ridge, considered the easiest and most accessible route, offers a rewarding challenge for experienced mountaineers. Ama Dablam is a serious climb that requires the extensive use of ropes and technical equipment.
If your climbing experience is limited or your skills need a refresher, we recommend joining our Himalayan Three Peaks trip beforehand. This will help you pre-acclimatize and thoroughly brush up on the necessary skills for a successful ascent.
The ascent to Camp One (5,800m) is relatively straightforward. From there, the route gradually becomes steeper as we move onto the rocky South-West Ridge. The final approach to the summit involves snow slopes with gradients of up to 45 degrees. We have enjoyed strong summit success on all our previous expeditions.
