Annapurna Circuit Trek

Itinerary

Your trek begins with a scenic drive westward to Beshi Sahar, the traditional starting point of the Annapurna Circuit. Enjoy beautiful countryside views and terraced fields along the way. Overnight at a local lodge.
Begin trekking through lowland villages, crossing suspension bridges and walking along rivers and waterfalls. The trail gradually ascends to Bahun Danda, a ridge-top village with excellent views. Overnight at lodge.
Continue descending into the Marshyangdi River Valley, walking through rice paddies and subtropical forests before arriving at Chyamje, set against a backdrop of lush hills. Overnight at lodge.
The trail ascends through forests and scattered settlements, crossing a suspension bridge before climbing to Tal and then on to Dharapani, a key village where many trekking routes converge. Overnight at lodge.
Pass through fir and pine forests, enjoying scenic views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II. Reach Chame, the administrative center of the Manang District, where prayer wheels and mani walls signal a deepening Buddhist influence. Overnight at lodge.
A picturesque trail leads through narrow canyons and along rivers to Pisang, offering your first dramatic views of the Paungda Danda rock face. The air becomes noticeably cooler as you gain altitude. Overnight at lodge.
Choose between a lower or upper trail (the upper route offers better mountain views) as you make your way to Manang, a culturally rich village nestled beneath Annapurna III and Gangapurna. Overnight at lodge.
Take a rest day to adapt to the altitude. Optional short hikes to Gangapurna Lake, Bhojo Gompa, or Chongkor Viewpoint offer stunning panoramas and aid acclimatization. Explore the village and its local bakeries. Overnight at lodge.
A shorter trekking day as the trail climbs steadily through alpine landscapes. You’ll pass yak pastures and sparse vegetation en route to Yak Kharka. Overnight at lodge.
Continue trekking towards the foot of the Thorong-La Pass, arriving at Thorong Phedi, the base camp. Prepare for an early morning start for the high pass crossing. Overnight at lodge.
Start early to ascend Thorong-La, one of the highest trekking passes in the world. The panoramic views from the top are unforgettable. Descend gradually to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. Overnight at lodge.
Descend through the arid Mustang landscape to Kagbeni, a fascinating medieval village guarding the entrance to Upper Mustang. Wander through its narrow alleys and ancient monasteries. Overnight at lodge.
Follow the Kali Gandaki River downstream to Jomsom, and then continue to Marpha, a charming Thakali village known for its apple orchards and whitewashed houses. Overnight at lodge.
Pass through Tukuche and other scenic villages, with views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks dominating the horizon. Arrive at Kalopani, nestled amidst pine forests. Overnight at lodge.
Descend into warmer climates and lush greenery. Upon reaching Tatopani, relax in the natural hot springs a perfect reward for your efforts. Overnight at lodge.
Begin climbing again through terraced fields and villages to Shikha, offering beautiful views of the valleys below. Overnight at lodge.
Continue ascending through dense rhododendron and oak forests to reach Ghorepani, a popular trekking stop offering cozy lodges and Himalayan views. Overnight at lodge.
Rise early for a sunrise hike to Poon Hill (3,194 m), where you’ll witness the majestic glow of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre. After breakfast in Ghorepani, trek through lush forest trails to Tadapani. Overnight at lodge.
Descend to Ghandruk, one of the largest Gurung villages in the region, rich in culture and surrounded by panoramic mountain views. Explore the village and visit the local museum. Overnight at lodge.
Enjoy a gentle descent through terraced fields and forests to Nayapul, where a short drive brings you back to Pokhara. Check into your hotel and unwind by the lake. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu through beautiful hill country, completing your unforgettable trekking experience.
