Overview
Baruntse, standing at 7,129 meters, lies nestled between the majestic peaks of Everest and Makalu. The most commonly used route to climb this mountain is the South-East Ridge, as it was the path taken by the first successful climbers. Since then, many mountaineers have followed this route to reach the summit.
The South-East Ridge of Baruntse is quite challenging due to its steep and demanding terrain. Climbers face difficult sections with slopes up to 50 degrees, including a prominent ice cliff that must be navigated carefully. This route also carries the risk of avalanches, requiring climbers to be experienced and cautious.
